Stover & Opdycke, LLC is a knowledgeable and professional dog training facility. Our specialty is teaching owners and pets to work together to reach the goals you set for your dog.
With our exceptional training staff and many years experience in canine behavior, we can assist you in all areas of training for your puppy or adult dog. We have trained well over 20,000 dogs with our combined experience. Due to the fact that we are a small facility, and only work with a limited number of dogs at any given time, we are able to provide the highest caliber of consistent individual training and care to your dog at all times whether they are in our training program here or if you work individually with one of our trainers in private work.
Training services we offer:
We provide these services through individual training sessions at our facility and our resident boarding and training programs. We work with all breeds of dogs and all ages. We enjoy seeing puppies begin their training as early as 3 months of age. The pups are more than ready to learn and it is an important time to develop your puppy and teach them how to be a wonderful family member.
We offer two and four week programs, refresher courses, as well as other long-term programs for more extensive training and/or other specific needs. Because all dogs vary in temperament, background, age, and training requirements, these details will be discussed with you individually. These training programs include private sessions with you and your family. This allows us to bring your knowledge and handling abilities up to speed with what your dog has learned and developed to, and give you the “tools” to continue the training at home on your own. Your knowledge, involvement, and follow through at home with your dog is a very important aspect of your dog's successful outcome.
When your dog is here for training, you can be confident that your dog will receive the highest quality training and the absolute best care during their stay with us. We provide an incredible amount of one-on-one time with your dog in training and playtime. All dogs will receive an hour a day of training as well as a minimum of 3 play sessions and outings. Our play activities include running and romping in our fully fenced in field (either by themselves or with a small carefully selected group of friends), playing with a variety of fun toys, going on "field trips" to the local beaches and walking trails, and of course receiving wholesome loving attention throughout the day. We are always integrating consistent handling of the dogs here so we can reinforce what they are learning at every opportunity. The excellent care that is provided as standard services for the dogs vacationing with us is given to your dog in the training program as well.
